Frequently Asked Questions
Do you supply packaging material?
Yes we
can supply everything from book boxes to acid free tissue paper, bubble
wrap and tape.
Do you do packing services?
Yes. Each job is quoted individually which can be asked for at
the time of the quotation. All packaging materials are included in this
cost.
Do you un-pack?
We can offer as an additional service; however this service is
only to place items onto flat surfaces. Most people prefer to unpack
themselves.
Is insurance included in the cost of
the quote?
Yes. You are covered to the maximum cost of £50,000 indemnity
cover, which is underwritten by Poundgates.
Do I need to have my moving date
before I can book?
No. We are able to take provisional bookings even if you have
not exchanged contracts. All we ask is for a signed acceptance form and
a £100 deposit cheque.
What time will you be arriving?
We usually arrive on site between 8-9 am depending on location
and logistics of the move.
What do I do with my TV?
We provide blankets for wrapping your belongings, we do suggest
that you bubble wrap also.
What do I do with my freezer?
Please defrost your freezer 24hrs prior to our arrival and
unplug it.
What about my carpets, will they get
dirty?
We bring professional carpet protection which can be placed on
all types of flooring to protect it.
10 Things you should know
1. We are unable to un-plumb washing machines or dishwashers as
we are not qualified plumbers.
2. Please ensure all electrical appliances are un plugged from the wall
prior to our arrival.
3. We cannot take flammable or explosive liquids or containers.
4. Please ensure that all bed linen has been removed from the
mattresses prior to our arrival.
5. We cannot access lofts, attic’s or basements which have a
non-permanent access or un-suitable staircase.
6. We are unable to take up laid carpet as we are not professional
carpet fitters.
7. Anything secured to the walls must be taken down by the
customer/professional prior to our arrival, such items include: TV’s,
Pictures, mirrors, wall lights etc.
8. If you have not requested our packing service you should be ready to
move on the day of the removal. All items still to pack on the day will
be classed as items not going.
9. We are only responsible for what we pack. Please ensure that
any packing carried out by the customer is suitably packed for
relocating. All un-suitable items will not be relocated.
10. All draws must be emptied, there are 3 reasons for this:
a. Lighter to carry
b. No breakages within the draws
